Alaska Grown Program
The Alaska Grown Program is a marketing initiative run by the Alaska State Division of Agriculture that has achieved wide-spread name recognition. The "Alaska Grown" logo is a recognizable brand that alerts consumers to the fact that the product they are purchasing is grown in Alaska.
Any Alaskan farmer is eligible to be an authorized Alaska Grown participant and display the Alaska Grown logo on their products. The Division has a simple one page application that must be completed and approved for producers to utilize the logo. At this time, the program comes at no cost to the producers.
The Division also compiles an Alaska Grown Resource Book, identifying producers and products grown in the state. This book only contains producers who have responded to the statewide survey. The book is printed every two years, but is continually updated online. As a consumer, you can search the Alaska Grown database to source local farms and farm products. For more information about the Source Book, or to be included in the online directory, contact the Division of Agriculture.
